ABOUT LE KAVACHA BISTRO
Owner, William Yemele, worked at his Fathers restaurant in Cameroon in the 70's and 80's. A party of young diplomats came to the restaurant one day and suggested the name be changed to "Kavacha '' which means a place to celebrate and gather with loved ones in a native language of Congo.
Le Kavacha offers an inviting menu inspired by French cuisines served up in a sleek and modern setting. The menu features authentic and innovative fare, creative cocktails, and unique French wines, making Le Kavacha one of the most exciting new restaurants in Washington DC.
Executive Chef : Eugene Ndjiki-Nya
Chef Eugene Ndjiki-Nya was born in Cameroon and raised in France. Chef Eugene knew by the age of 16 that he would become a Chef. After attending Culinary School in France Training under world class chefs, Chef Eugene went out to perfect the art of French Cuisine which inevitably led him to the United states. Chef Eugene has worked his way to top French Restaurants in the city and has been a staple of French cuisine in DC since.
